yup to young. cute little guy tho.

The little Jag has been in the tank(55g) for 3 days now with 3 carpintis all around 2 1/2 - 3 inches. He/she has claimed the cave in the piece of driftwood in the 3rd pic for his own and chases away n e 1 who comes to close. For he most part he/she seems very shy and doesnt chase for long, gradually spending more time outside of the cave. The only problem im having is he hasn't been eating. I feed nls cichlid pellets and have also tried hikari gold but It all ends up in the carpitis bellies and jag shows little interest. Should I just b patient or try something else. I would like to get him/her eating pellets before I start giving bloodworms, shrimp, etc.

I had the same prob wit mine. everyone else was way bigger than him I didn't even think he was gonna make it. I did what I had to do to get him to eat atleast once a day. now hes the boss of the tank and im dedicating the whole tank to him soon. just get some small sinking pellets and try to get them to drop near him.

Mine took a few days to start eating. I wouldn't worry to much unless he/she is being bullied away from the food. This is mine I have only had him a month and he is noticeably growing. Mine is in with a JD, Wild caught Oscar, and Firemouth. I will be re homing as they get bigger so the Jag and JD have the 125 to themselves. If they get along that is.
