Bought it around a week and a half ago posted a few pictures and was told it looked very malnourished from the LFS so called feeding. It seems to be very hooked on Hikari Gold and loves to eat haha. Anyway here's one recent pic, still unsure on the sex of the fish. When it's fins flair theres a very distant blue tint.

Yea I was pretty stoked when it took to the pellets, much easier to feed and not as big of a mess. I tried beef heart but I guess it didn't like it, spit it out all the time.
 
Sometimes with small fish I find trying different kinds of pellets by trial amd error to see what they like,you can also crush bigger pellets,if you have other sizes.nice looking male.I know your looking for a male,but the female jags are great also,good size,personable,sometimes more tolerant of tankmates

So everybody seems to agree that this is a male? The tanks going to be his own so I won't have to worry about any tank mates, I have another tank set up with Africans so he will have this tank all to himself to become a little monster :)
 
maybe post more photos if you can,going by the other pic i would say male.how big of a tank will he be going into?
