looking good.. whats you ph?.. he looks a little washed out to me

7.9 is my PH. It is the light (blue) and the quality pics. He is a grass green color and you can see his snake like skin.

Here are more pics and I got a leingth of 5.75" last night
He is next to a window so also the sun light mixes with the blue bulb (atleast I think this is why, at night his color looks sweet against the darkness of the window)

ph isnt good. it should be around 6.4-7.5

looking really good. Just add a piece of wood to lower the PH a bit. But the bass still looks sexy.

yeah blue bulbs will wash out certain colors on cichla.. i would recommend drop your ph to around 6.5 or lower.. his colors will explode... but hes nice and looks healthy

I didnt know they needed lower PH, I thought by acclimating him to the faucet water would be better rather than him going throu the PH changes every week. It also was a feeder/grow out tank till I stopped feeding my Armatus live foods. Thats why the tank is pretty plain, but I will add a PC of driftwood. As for the light, I think the blue lights suck... but Im to lazy to change it

no prob, yeah you are better off with your water being pure acid, driftwood or cattappa leave will work
