Need help feeding my juives. I have had em 2.5 months, don't know exact sp., know they are TR, 7x 3-3.5 in fish in a 55 moving to 110 in a few months, and then bigger and bigger. They where only taking freeze dried mysis shrimp and live blackworms. I ran out of blackworms and mysis shrimp last week and now that I got some more they won't eat them. All they will take are freeze dried jumbo krill. I really really want to feed them a varied diet but they just want the krill, to the begging point. It almost seems like they don't want anything that's small anymore just big stuff? These are the first pbass I have had. They strike almost anything that's put in the tank, but spit most stuff out.

Maybe shrimp or fish or beef heart? Do you cook any of those or feed em raw?

What about a good pellet? Any opinions about what's best?

Homegrown feeder guppies?

Of course they want bigger food. The small stuff isn't filling them up anymore.

Go with raw.shrimp, raw tilapia, and hikari massivore

Ok. Sorry for all the questions, never fed shrimp or fish, shelled shrimp and if there are bones in the fish do I remove them?

Storage? Freeze cubes or portions?

And thank you for the reply.

Deshell the shrimp and only use fish fillets to avoid bones. I prefer a staple of pellets and tilapia fillets or shrimp as treats.

Keep the shrimp or fish fillet frozen and defrost only as much as needed.

Listen to sevan and chizzle. Tri hikari food sticks as well. Toss in one krill at a time...then after a few pieces of krill toss in a food stick.

Pellets are the best diet.

No luck =(

The shrimp and tilapia sat on the bottom of the tank for an hour or 2 with none of them touching on the way down or after it sank.

Guess they are like me... Like the food that tastes good but bad for you. Maybe they'd like Burger King as much as I do /shrug.

I had mine eating brine shrimp but he simply was not growing. 1 month and maybe a 1/4" growth. Started breeding rosie reds. Eating them almost 2/3rds his size. 2 a day. Hes grown an inch and is considerably thicker and taller in 2 weeks. Going from frozen brine to minnows is my advise. Until hes big enough to starve and get mostly on pellets.
