Juvie Pike Question

X1? I know you said that it is not, but is sure looks like it to me, except for the tail, the tail does look like a Ven.
Talked to Vinny Kutty and he said it looks like a "fat and happy" venezuela... I have seen Xingu 1 before and they are way more orange than my guy. But who knows... He/She has grown about 1.5 inches since I posted this!!! It is a cutey pie and doesn't really fight with the gold gouramis it is with and completely ignores the clown pleco. In total it is about 3.5 inches long. Still tiny.

Here in MN there is only venezuela's, xingu 1, lucius, Bellycrawler, and sveni here with an occasional compressesiceps.
You're lucky to even get that selection of pikes. The tail was the main thing throwing it off. Crenicichla sp. 'xingu I' doesn't have that 'v' bar trait. Never seen a sp. 'ven' that 'bright' though...very interesting. It might be sp. 'lugubris'...or unidentified. Definately keep us updated as it grows!

i just came back from an LFS (ocean blue) and there were a tank full of them... maybe 10 total
for a brief moment i was excited and thought they were lenticulata
I wish it were a lent..... but I love him/her just the same!! Just hope it doesn't get past the 18" mark lol.
