I have 2 juvy flowerhorns making a nest and fighting off everything that comes near them. What age do they have to be to spawn? I will be happy when they are big enough as male and female are displaying KOK.

Here are pictures, please let me know what you think.

Male at 2 inches:

4 inch FH's its possible. They're just like little teenage FH's experimenting after school.
Seein' what feels good....
Hope the male doesn't prematurely fertilize.....you know....first time and all....

Babies makin' babies!

I'm not sure. I don't see why it would matter. You want babies and the possibility of a tankmate being owned by the male for looking at his new Sweet thang? Keep them together....

I've never breed FH's this small before. I've heard of it, but never seen it in action.
I'm sure Danz and the others can put some input. But I say let them fool around a little bit. see what happens.

I think they've already sexed each other...
Unless he has some sexually confused FH's.......

Kinda... I heard rumors that only female flowerhorns have the "Flower" in their dorsal fin. So that would make the other a male.

Oh I see... I hope that this is the case then, thats what I went off of.

Well, I mean, if they are showing signs of breeding behavior. If they are building a nest and what not, then there is a pretty good chance that one is male and one is female. Either that or they're prison g@y.....
