I do not think they are Sax.. group, will confirm and getback to you - - - - nonetheless they are different and exciting to have ! It really is a a new frontier and exciting for us to bring these Pikes into our country! The Argentina crenicichla have been absolutely amazing. I was planning to go to Uruguay but now think I'll go further south, and west. We are in touch with local collectors who are serious cichlid keepers, it is very interesting how our circle of fish-people expands, someday I'll write a journal. The Argentina pikes have really opened my eyes as to what is available and can be imported. Many of these fish are undiscovered and undescribed! Now that the portal is open we will explore this unknown terrritory and share the knowledge. This is cutting-edge info and news!!! It makes my heart beat faster and my desire for more info amplified..... contact us for info and news, this Argentina trip is another dimension!. the Fish are amazing!! the lone vittata we got was truly outstanding, we can get more!!! It is a big plus to be able to get these fish directly from the source. We are lucky to have ventured this far, we hope to bring good news to people interested in new discoveries. ! It is a big world out there.....

C. tendybaguassu is part of the missioneira-group: missioneira, celidochilus, minuano, tendybaguassu, hadrostigma, igara, empheres, and jurubi.MTN PIKE said:
The easiest way to remember is the mandelburgeri-group has a distinct sub-ortibal stripe and spot in front of the tail. The missioneira-group (except for celidochilus) has paired blotches down their side.

I've heard & read that celidochilus may be in its' own group. Felipe Canrera discussed this with us during the Milwaukee ACA 2010. There really is not a more beautiful Pike than a fired-up female celido!
