K.I.S.S. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID

lets look at the kiss method and how many people use it....im just throwing this out there... this is how i keep rays and have several friends who do the same..

1. WE DONT CRY ABOUT THINGS....
2. water changes are done via tap water and prime.PH is what ever comes out of the tap
3. feed quality foods
4. KEEP THE WATER PRISTINE VIA WATER CHANGES(LARGE 50%)

these have proven to be very successful for us... rays have bred (some are still trying with multiple still births but we are dealing with that)
i have not used a test kit in 2 years give or take... i cycle tanks with out them.. ive put rays on very wide diets via starving them for several weeks... not 3 days and worry....again no need to cry about things...

these are just what we do... you want more specifics just ask... funny how when you keep things simple it works better...

Haha exactly. I say that Im actually the worst fish keeper out there and that is why I do...well did rays. I bet I couldnt keep a discus or cardinal tetra alive!

Rays are easy. ALL it is is just simple water changes. To keep rays, have a large tank, good filter, a bottle of prime, and a python and your good to go! For new WCs a bottle of prazi pro is handy. Heck I havent even acclimated the last several rays Ive had, just open the box, floated and dumped. They are pretty hardy fish.

K.I.S.S. works well with much of the hobby regardless of what is kept. Sometimes we have a tendency to over-do our care. That's when we really get into trouble.

yuppers.... if you keep it simple you will succeed...

Dont forget the KILLERSAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Muhahahaha!!!!

You cant use killersand with rays (silica/sandblastingsand), Because its so irritating that you rays will curel up right away! These are real facts that i heard from a real expert!

I mean, just look at it compared to normal sand! The grains are like knifes!!!! scary stuff!!!

1. Silica 70%/sandblasting sand
2. Normal sand from a store.

i agree....k.i.s.s. The biggest thing is being consistant. I never miss a water change, always so at least 75% a week. I have never added one chemical to my tank, i have well water so i just fill it up right out of the sink.

My main tank is 50% bb and the rest is 3m quartz sand and with motoro's no problems at all.

and i keep all rays in bare bottom tanks... i did use a smooth river pebble 3/8ths of a inch in size and liked it... but barebottom is just so damn simple and easy...
