the fry with the pink tone might turn out to be a red kamfah when it gets bigger.

He's so different from the other ones, no other fry in the batch had that pinkish/orange color. I hope the color intensifies even more as it grows, or that he'll just fade for me. :naughty:

He's definitely the one with the biggest kok, if you can even call it a kok at that size heheh

I WISH there were more nice ones like these. For some reason, my Kamfa batches seem to die off early. Of the 200+ fry that hatched, all but 11 died before they hit 1/4". The second batch I had all died off at that same age. I don't know why, I've had a few batches of fish before and never had any problems. I did notice a lot of the fish had deformities, so maybe the pair just made a high percentage of weak offspring.

So these were the only decent ones I got, the others all had screwed up gillplate, mouth, or tail. I really like the nicer fry that survived though, I'm still ticked that the others died off.

updates?
i want to see if the duck one will ever look normal. :D

there is no need to change the color of the fry pictures. Just show what they really look like.

I have to say I know Nick personally and have gazed at these fish many times. The pictures are actually quite a disservice to the real thing. That first fish's entire left side of his face is one solid blue pearl. We are also certain that the "pink" one will fade. Or at least we hope. If fish grew a little faster I would grab my :popcorn:and watch it fade. :D

what amazes me, is that the last one(best in my personal opinion), has a flower spot. its kind of cool that he got that even though if he fades you'll never see it again.
