kar rin (kilin) parrot

does anyone know if they are like flowerhorns and their colours increase with age? cause hes about 2.5 inches long and i want to know if that is how it will look as an adult.
 
He is a hybrid of Flowerhorn and Parrot.
This particular fish has more of Parrot genes than Floowerhorn genes.
It has Parrot body with flowerhorn colors and patterns.

Hi colors will definitely increase with proper nutrition. Feed him krills.
Also pellets that contain Asthaxanthin and Spirulina to improve color.

that's a nice killin! diet is key to promoting their color, of course good genes and clean water too.

I've got a 'big' female, she's about 5-6" I think she's full grown. She's a little over a year old now.
 
Gotta admit i love the look of these fish. Very good lookin Killin Parrot.
 
do you think $55 was an okay price.
 
To be honest, thats a high price for that fish, my LFS often has these for $35 and much better quality. But if you like it, thats what matters.
 
yeah but where i live i pay $75 for a 2 inch silver aro, $150 for a baby ornate bichir, $45 for a young ropefish so prices are expensive. and i just got it from petland so it hasnt been getting that great of a diet. it also has a fully closeable mouth so the only parrot deformity it has is the notch
 
the prices are all over the place on these fish. i have seen 1 inch kirins for 40 and i have seen 2-3 inch for 16. i just depends on who is selling them and their quality. i llike yours. i wouldn't say that you paid way too much. in my area, i can't even find them. i have only been able to see them online
