Keep my jar or go asian???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Don't waste your money on a banjar, the jardini will be a better looking fish when larger. If you're not going to get a nice RTG it isn't really an upgrade IMO, unless you just want it for the slightly milder temper in which case I'd pick a green over a banjar any day.
+1,Greens much better that banjars... But RTG is much better than a jardini..!Its definately an upgrade

I really like my jardini but I'm fed up of it constantly knocking its scales off :( he is so skittish, and he is starting to show a little aggression, he is around 8-9" right now and I'm worried about it getting worse? What's wrong with the banjar? Just not as colourful? Do all of the asian aro's have a similar temperament?

You pay more for banjars than greens and it does not show much colour comparatively..
Atleast thats the case Here.
Each Asian arowana have different behaviour.Greens are the most calm and non-agressive
Which means a comm tank is very much possible..
RTG's are one of the most aggressive

Do what your heart wants dude. I personally would keep the jag, I love jags but that's me, if you have the anxiety for an aro then go for it.

Pros Jars are bad a** and are a true monsters and nice glass banging show piece cons little can be kept with them

Pros to Asian not as agressive cool nice show piece rare can be kept with other arrows and others cons illegal in some areas

Go for jar

Thanks for the replies, I don't think I could bring myself to give up the jar anyway lol had him since he was 3 inches, just hope he settles down when he's bigger... Still really like some of the Asians tho, just seen a really nice golden x back, maybe I should just try to talk my girlfriend into another tank...

It's not really the aggression that's the problem ATM its that he spooks at every sound or movement by the tank, he will have a very nice big tank soon but he tents to jump at the lid more than bump the glass, guess I will have to try and give him a bit more jump space
