from the pic that del looks like a potential meal to the ornate
and about this working it all depends on the fish, i mean different ornates different behaviors
in my tank i have a group of 4 ornates, along with manyt other polys, the smallest one was an albino sen, and among the ornates the biggest one although at that time was touching 14" or so wasn't the one who tried to eat the little 7" albino sen, it was another ornate who was like 10-11"
the tank they were all in was a 220 gal with a large foot print.
so if it looks like it might get eaten up, do not think twice, grow it out more and then add the fella to the tank.
