River monsters is fun to watch but I'd say that it is also safe to say that it's where the "nutcracker" reputation came from, or at least how it was popularized.

yup, before River Monsters started this nutcracker reputation, these pacus are usually called "vegetarian piranha" or "human-toothed fish" by the fishermen that caught them in non-native waters.

How come every time I read about Pacu being "nut-crackers"...a can feel it!!!

I currently have four 10"-12" Pacu...and every time I stick my hand/arm in the tank...I worry about getting bit!
