I have a large planted tank with almost no algea. Except on the glas front. In my former tanks i always whipped it of with filtration cotton (sorry if translated it wrong). But in this tank it wont remove it. So i now have to use a mucher rougher material to clean, but even then its hard to remove and i get afraid of scratches. Anyone has a bright idea how to clean the glass?

mag float will not work on the hard stuff he is talking about. The razor is about the only thing that will remove it with ease. But make sure like stated you stay away from the seams. Good luck.

I've yet to run into any algae our large mag-float wont take off. We have a SS blade on a stick but I've never had to use it before.

How much do the big ones run? I paid like 30 for mine, and it still does not get the hard stuff. I always have to use the razor. It gets the normal stuff, but the hard stuff is tough to get off. I can't even scratch it off with my thumb nail.

Wow, I haven't run into that stuff before...or should I say 'yet' :nilly:

Maybe a slight exaggeration on my part. I just tried to scratch it again, and I would say, it just takes more force than you would think, but, is to tough for the mag. The razor seems to work fine. It is the hard green algae that seems to be little perfect circles. I got some "seeded" gravel from the lfs (long ago and it is isolated to 1 tank) and seeded "super algae" lol....

I got that tough circle algae stuff on the side parts and back on my tank. Its a real bugger to scrape off with my finger, but I just leave it. Isnt the most intrusive of algae by the way.
