Keeping and aro in a pool?

i wouldnt worry about the aro abandoning ship and dying. Yeah he jumps, but he aint dumb. ive got 2 giant aros in a pond as well, and they never did such a thing. The water is always to the maximum level and the aros have been fine for years.
If the aro is small though, beware for birds that could snap him away...

Edit: nevermind I see your thread you posted back in 2007. Though IMO 100,000 gallons isn't a pond...it's a lake nice pond

looks good, you answered as I was editing my other post. Looking forward to some recent pics. Did you catch the aros yourself?

Awesome pond. You need to get someupdated pics of that thing posted.

Thanks for everyones help. I'd rather have the pond open for viewing but I think I'm definately going to go with the netting over it. It will be a mild inconvienance but better safe then sorry. I'd be extremely mad if I came home and found the aro on my garage floor. I won't have to drop the water level that way.

Hey thats mine. Yes it is very effective. My thinking was the same. I didn't want to sacrifice water for my big fish but also didn't want to lose one in the middle of the night because it got spooked.

enclose it and make sure it is weighted down. they will jump out. trust me from experience.
