i tried this about a week or two ago. i added live plants and 3 tetra ap150 air pumps n sponge filters. for the most part the fish did fine for a few days till my 2 yrs old nephew decided to pour his juice for his cup inside the pool i was keeping the fish in n killied it cause i was at work and my mother in law didnt know how to change the water by the time i came home the fish gone beyond all reason . i tried to revive it in my hospital tank but it was too late . the chicken wire as a cover works good. i wrapped a large piece all the way around the tank and put the ends under the pool to keep out any unwanted critters

i like it how most people think you need a filter for 1 jag to grow out in an 18 foot pool. Not sure but just thinking that may be enough water volume lol.

Well it depends on how long you plan on keeping it in there, what you feed it, and how often you change the water.

Correction its a 8' pool by 18" high . Itsnot enoughwater volume to not have a filter or some type or air pump

It might be rather shallow to protect against wildlife so I'd put a ton of floating plant and cover almost the entire surface.
