All I've got in there is a senegal bichir and two small cichlids so it's nowhere near overstocked yet.

I wouldn't put yoyos with bichirs. Clowns would fare better with a senegal as long as they're fairly good size clowns.

okay so yo-yos may be more suited to my 56 gallon tank then. That actually works out okay seeing as how my buddy wants a group of clowns, has a 125 gallon, and is willing to take my clown when he gets bigger. seem like an okay plan?

that sounds good to me. what kind of cichlids do you have in the 75? if they don't grow big like oscars you could probably still add clown loaches without overstocking the tank. or you can just try adding the clown loach in with the yoyos in the 56 gal.

their electric yellow x red zebra crosses so I expect a max size of 6 inches. I do have a couple delhezis I'm growing out to go in the 75 though. still think I might have room?

I think you do. The clowns should takes a long time to grow and the bichirs' growth slows down after a while. But it's really your call though. Add the bichirs first then see if you still have room after that.

I know that Clowns like to be in groups but I don't really think I have the tank space to do a large group of them and was wondering if my CL would pal around with yo-yo loaches if I got a group of them. any thoughts or suggestions?

I have mostly clowns and a few yoyos in my tank, they don't bother each other, and usually shoal together.
