So since my 4-6" filament barbs were all unfortunately wiped out and I was on Long Island I decided to visit aqua hut to pick up a new schooling fish. I wanted something slightly smaller, but still tightly schooling. I was considering dwarf rainbows, but then I saw the Exodons aka bucktooth tetra. I bought 10 between 1"-2". Then I came on here. I know they're aggressive, but most people here seem to think they will kill all fish and are monsters. I wanted to know if anyone had personal experience. I have a 7-8" green terror, a 6" red severum, a 4" bristlenose pleco and a 6" blood parrot currently in the tank. I spoke with a staff member in aqua hut who I trust and have been friends with and trust since 2006. He knows my fish and doesn't think they will be a problem. I was hoping you guys could let me know if he's wrong and if I'm in trouble here. It's a 55 gallon that's planted, I have a rena xp3 and an aquaclear 110 on the tank and I do two 25% water changes per week. Thanks guys!

I have had them in mixed cichlids tanks with a few other different fish, and they were fine. No aggression. They were just like tetras (which they are) - they LOOSELY school, and sometimes go off on their own. They are great fish. Just make sure nothing can eat them.

Awesome! I can always count on this site and the great people on it.

Here is a pic of said tank. Don't mind the random red cheek barb, he's going to my friends 120

Hmm thanks unstoppablejayd. I'll have to watch out for this. That's a shame. I really like them but the big guys come first.

Hey, Ive heard of odder things working out... Its funny you posted this topic as I was at aquascape with a fellow member and had this exact discussion today. Good luck and keep it updated.

You'll have to update this thread every so often. I got 13 exodons in the 1-2" range for my 55 a few weeks ago and am debating putting them in my 125 with my 9.5" male jag. U should be more worried about your GT eating them than the other way around, that's the only thing keeping me from doing it... they'd be a very expensive dinner for my Jag.
