So my LFS up here in MN called Terre-Quatics has a couple 6" northern pikeS (Esox Lucius) available and I am VERY tempted here

So, I was wondering if, first off, it's smart to keep this with any fish at all?

If so, can it be slowly acclimatized into somewhat tropical temperatures such as 75 degrees?

And with the above two being possible, could I keep it with a silver arowana?

(I am fully capable of getting a big enough tank for this fish for life and keeping it.)

Northern Pike are HIGHLY predatory and see anything up to (and including) their own size as food. I've caught plenty of Northern Pike where you'll get it half-way to the boat and another Pike ofr similar (sometimes smaller) size grabs on as I'm dragging the larger fish to the boat :O

I would say: don't tempt fate. But I'd also say that they're worth setting up their own tank for :D

You could probably pull it off temp wise but pike are eating machines and silver arowana, although cool, are a bit soft to be hanging around with them. I would assume the pike would eventually do what it does best. It would probably be super cool for a minute though. I like mixing norths with centrals and souths too man, Im doing it, I would just be careful with the esox.

So it sounds like the temperature thing is a yes. but looks like it would be much to risky on the silver Arowana part. What if my aro was much larger?

It may work. But it would also depend on the fish.

A grass pickerel would be better for this situation, though.

I would say NO to northern pike. Also I have a warning for you, these northern pike count as your limit if you went fishing. It's in fishing regulations.
