keeping plants alive?

I'm not saying it doesn't help I'm saying that its not worth it. Its a cheap alternative to the good stuff. Dirt is messy when you change the scape that was a 20 long sorted tank
2nd pic is non dirted and the growth was just as good

I'm saying that dirt is just a growing medium. You can grow plants in almost any substrate but you can't grow plants in any light therefore light is more important then substrate

Why are you arguing that you can grow plants in any substrate but you cant grow plants without any light? I never once stated you can only grow plants in dirt and also that plants can grow without light. You are making an argument for yourself and arguing it by yourself.
