I just added the sand not too long ago and even though I cleaned it by the next day there's always a ton crap everywhere then I clean again and more crap the next day. What can do to actually keep it clean for more than a day?.I already thought about sticking little corks up their a**!.There just has to be a better way, any advice would be appreciated.

feed less, thin your stock, get some geos, put a powerhead just above the sand to keep it from settling... lots of things you can do.

Sounds like you need more filtering and more water flow.

The one tank is a 75 gal with a pleco and nine baby JDs,emperor 400.Just did sand yesterday in this one. Second tank 120 gal,two cascades hob rated for 100 gal each.2 JDs,6 zebras,1 Rio Olimar,1 African forgot what it was but it stays small,1jewel,bristlenose pleco and a snowflake eel till I find it a good home.I feed 120 gal tank every 2 to 3 days and the 75 gal everyday.I just got a xp 4 haven't set it up yet didn't know what media to put in it.The xp 4 and emperor 400 will go on 120 and the two cascades will go on 75 when I go to setup the xp.

Being forced to vacuum every day, and thus changing some water everyday sounds like the perfect way to run a tank, daily fresh water for the fish is optimum.

i have same problem, white sand and any bits of left over food and poop sits around on it... looks effin horrible, i even have 3 power heads maxijet 1200's and they help a bit but there still dead spots here and there.... and if the powerheads are close enough to the ground they blow the sand around all over the place which is that great either... (2 on each end of the tank facing inword and one close to the middle at top blowing towards the front...
