Alright,.... I admit this is a very stupid question to come up w/, but i just have to ask~~

Can I keep only 2x motoro and one Arowana in a 180 gal tank without water change ( or 1x water change per month ).... only 3 fish totally

My system: 60gal sump (1900gal/hr, "FULL" ceramics and some Chemi-pure), 1x Fluval FX5 ("FULL" ceramics), 1x AC110, 1x air pump, 1x powerhead...

First, I understand the importance of water change, and how critical the water parameter to the ray... Second, I have always kept my water change schedule and i am not a newbie....

Reason for asking:

Many of you know, I am cutting down my collection. Not by choice, I will have to leave the country for a couple months (~3 months), so obviously I wont be around to take care my sting rays.... I live alone,no one else is in the house.

However, I really wish to be able to keep my rays and not sell them. I have these babes since they are pups, and I really love them a lots.... They are my most favorite fish in my entire collection. If possible, I am tryin to figure out a way to keep them "alive" when I am not around.... and not have to sell them.

I probably can ask my friend to come my house doing water change once a month... but none of them are in the hobby ( they dont realli know how to take care fish) .....

So~ Wut do you guys think? advice? Anyone keeps rays and never do water change ??

If it's absolutely no ways to work this out... I will let them go.. I dont want to kill them...

Yet, I still hope some of you experts can provide me some suggestion... maybe there is a way to solve this problem.

P.S: 2x motoro, 11" male 8" female, and 1x 14" Arowana in a 180 gallon

Thank you very much~~~

IMO, Absolutely NOT! I know it is hard, but it will be for the best to pass them on

i have friends that dont keep fish but like mine enough to learn to feed and do water changes. if not set up a drip system. even if it is temporary( hoses run across the house) ugly but effective. and feeding isnt super complicated. goodluck.

Feeding is easy....

it's the water change thing... I dont know if my friend is smart enough to fig out how to use hang-over wet/dry....

IT IS VERY VERY HARD FOR ME~~!!!

I just love them totally....

set up a drip system they are easy and if it is temporary you dont have to worry about the way it looks.

drip system would be your best bet.... the lack of waterchanges would not be a good idea..... an easier solution if not drip system is to have a bottle of prime there and tell your friend 2x a week change 4x 5 gallons of water or put a line on the tank so he knows to drain it that far......

Try finding somebody here on MFK near you and maybe they can give you a helping hand in water changes or even feeding. Possibly somebody off here would take on your fish for the months you will be gone and then you can get them back when you come back. Maybe???
