Keeping Tank On Ground?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ive got space in my garage for my 75 gallon to sit on the ground... I dont have a stand but since its going in my garage it wont be seen anyway...

The floor is solid concrete and i have swept under it like 50 times haha.

Could i just sit the tank straight on the floor ?

Or layer a bit of cardboard underneath ?

Tbh I used to go to goodwill and buy an old dresser for $20 and use that for a stand!

could always use cinderblocks for a stand

Hunh?...I don't see how the cardboard will do anything to change the weight distribution as the frame is still going to support the tank and will likely press through the cardboard to the floor, from the weight of the tank....I have had a seventy five sitting on the bare floor in my basement for a few months until I got around to building a really cheap stand for it.

Diy stands are dirt cheap if you have the means to build one... all u really need is a tape measure, miter/skilsaw, 2×4's and a screw gun... but if you don't have the tools then it can get expensive unless u can borrow them.
