A favor for the friend, not a favor for the fish! Post a pic or forever be deemed a troll!

If i hadn't of taken it he would have probably put it in a bucket so i think my tank is better then the alternative for now.

And before you go off about there being nothing in the tank i'm moving house in a couple of weeks so am waiting until after to put the sand and everything in.

sorry for calling you a douche bag...lol....it doesnt look like the tank size is an issue at the moment but def will be in the near future.

your oscar need a bigger tank and so does the bichir....... :(

The ornate is not 12 inches long, he's still a little guy. From the looks of that picture, the ornate is about 1/4 the length of the tank. a 35 gallon tank is not 4 feet long...the 75 gallon tank is 4 feet long. The current set-up looks cramped for a bichir of that size and I would start looking for a new home, but its not as bad as you think....at the moment.

The Oscar will be going into a much bigger tank fairly soon, i just wanted to own one for a bit because everyone says they are one of the best to keep & had no intention of keeping it in the 35g when it's adult size, as for the bichir it would have died if i hadn't put it in my tank & was only ever meant to be temporary anyway. I wanna find somewhere suitable for it asap so i can set up my tank the way i want it.

I'll be the only one who doesn't buy this.
1: nobody buys an ornate bichir, gets tired of it and plans to just throw it in a bucket if no one wants it.
2: if you were planning on trying to find homes for the other fish you wouldn't be wanting to add turtles to your stock.
3: your stock looks exactly like what an eager 14 y/o fish keeper would run out and buy with his birthday money on a whim.

Omg I hate flamers so in your defense I will say you probably are just interested in turtles and haven't studied much or owned much. But, I have owned turtles a majority of my lifetime and am very experienced in this field and I know that tank is no where near large enough for any breed of cooter, slider, or map. Don't even consider snappers. Ok so if you want a turtle in that sized tank I reccomend going online and start looking for razorback musk and common musk turtles. You can also look for southern painted turtles but that is pushing it in a 35 gallon. But razorback and common musks will be more than happy in this tank. So check out those species of turtles. A very common misconception is a turtle NEEDS 10 gallons per shell inch this is not always the case though. This is only true for species over the 5 inch mark in my opinion but you should have a 5 inch turtle in at least a 50 gallon but it will be fine in a 35 gallon. I would highly recommend common musks for a beginner which you most likely are and they are a very great species to keep. As are razorback musks but they get slightly larger than common musks. I would not recommend a full sized souther painted turtle in a 35 gallon though because of it's size if you want anything over five inches I recommend getting a 75+ gallon aquarium.
