Thanks Nic

Update: Just called the house to check on him and hes moved himself away from the airstone and is swimming a little. Can't wait to get home to check on him.

Just a thought... My gar would get The red veins when being harassed by tank mates.I only knew as I would come in and turn on the lights and the offenders were to slow to get away from the We have you look..... I had to cut out some fish ... And then he got better... Just some random thoughts running through my head when reading your thread.

Oh wow he is still small.. How much did you pay for him?
Yes, he was the smallest available when Rapps had them up the first time. He hasn't been a big eater so his growth rate was considerably slower than the rest. He was outgrown by 2 sets of growouts of other bass (i only keep 3 in growout at a time) I paid 125 i believe.

Hmmm...now that hes solitary ill see if it improves anymore. I had a gar develop the red streaks in the past too, but that was because he broke thru the glass lids of his tank and spent a couple of hours out of water.
Thanks for the input.

I agree 100% AND GL. It sounds like lack of oxygen in the 20g ie. not enough turn over rate.

:iagree: its the only thing i can think of...
i remember i had to do that for a 16 inch mono which nearly died through transport....
best of luck bro!!!

Thanks for the inputs guys. I hadnt thought of the turnover not being enough. the hang-on back in there is rated for 60g, plus the 2 internal filters so i assumed it would be plenty since i've put alot of other bass thru the same growout process.. I wonder too why the other 2 bass seem ok? But ill definitley do something to up the 02.
