Just came home with this guy. He’s a solid 12. The owner of shop told me it’s a hybrid ocellaris but I’m not sure on this one. I personally would say ocellaris Kelberi would at least have shown some spangling at this size I’m sure. Plus this fish has what looks like a circle forming on rear bar. Opinions greatly appreciated

Turns out this fish has only been eating live it’s whole life according to owner at the shop. Hopefully I can turn him around to eat cut fish but a fish of this size may be stubborn. Tonight was a no go, others ate cut fish and pellets no issue. Guess it’s starvation and watching the o’s eat to get the message across

Thats a very pretty Ocell. It alone so its probably got alpha colors. Definitely a keeper! Once it fattens up it could be a show bass for sure

Just a small update. This fish is easily become one of my most greediest fish. Eating cut fish and market shrimp, even got him to accept pellets a couple times. He was skinny when I brought him home but now he’s nice and plump. Now if I can get my 2 other 12-14 ocellaris eating consistently.Noticed he’s much brighter as well.
