I have'nt gotten around to sexing mine but I'm almost sure that they are all males.My biggest kel is nearing ten inches and seems to be getting spots on it's pectorals,I've never noticed them there before.ado124;4132923; said:

Very boring and Mono like. She's at 9" and has no spangling on any fins other than her tail.

Ill get a picture up of my female soon.. She is about 13" now and Is getting very very yellow. Lots of dots now comming out on the anal fin and 1 spot now on the pelvic..
But like it has been said allready.. you need to be very patient with this species because she did not start to get dots on the anal or pelvic fin untill about 12".. Lots of people give up at about 8-10"
But I see what you mean with yours. How its got like a plain body color to it instead of the gold. Sometimes it really is just a hit or miss I guess.

The tank she's in has that effect on fish. Every fish I put in there turns drab and boring. She had plenty of yellow in the other tank but was getting picked on so I had to move her. Hopefully she develops soon.
