So I am looking to purchase a peacock bass soon and have narrowed it down to 2 options, the kelbri and the Intermedia. I have heard they are the 2 smallest and I have been trying to find out which one is smaller however I can’t seam to find a clear answer some things say the kelbri while others say the Intermedia. Does anyone know for sure which one is bigger and which one is smaller or if there is another breed that is smaller than both?

Short body will b ur smallest growing option. Theres SB kels and monos available fairly often. As for the kel vs intermedia debate id wager captive bred kels would stay smaller for weaker genes.
Yeah I was looking at the short body but they are just wayyy more expensive and I think the regular also look better. Any idea like what size a kelbri or intermedia would tend to max out at in a tank? Some sites say 10 inches but i find that hard to believe.
