Ditto, Shelb. Bloop's starting to show red a bit more regularly now that she's getting a bit larger. :) Also ha ha, bless the beginning of this thread. ;) My first and still best pbass was a mono hybrid that everyone on here praised. It's all about the presentation of the fish to the community that makes or breaks the reception on here.

I miss you, Argus, boo hoo. ;_;

Yup, it was the fact that you came in with a great personality and accepted our feedback and ID on ur Cichla, rather than rebelling and fighting back with ignorant words.

I've found my orinos eyes get red when hungry, then back to gold once they're full or even once food hits the water

SO true.
SHe also understands how to speak english properly and understands the use of periods, comma's etc.
But some just love to post numerous repeat threads talking about nothing.
They dont know how to use the search function, feel the need to be "name callers" and show no respect what so ever.
SO you already know that you will more than likely be treated as an ignorant semi-adult.
If you speak the way you do on here I wouldnt waste my time talking to you.

Red eyes can come and go with mood.
SOme species are more prone to have red eyes.

So which specific species/collection points does that seem to be the case in? I have some inkling, but I figured that for the sake of community education it'd be worth repeating and collecting in one spot.

I know of Cichla orinocensis, and some varieties of Cichla ocellaris (Guyana if I remember correctly?) can be.
