lets see my dat ate the hikari dicus pellets the first day he was in the tank. i think its a matter of persistance just keep it up and he'll switch. theres no need for garlic

Have you tried earthworms? Maybe the wriggling action will get them to eat and they are not feeder fish.
no i haven't tried earthworms. I like to have them eating shrimp and nothing else for the mean time. Then later maybe pellets but since everything else in my tank is on shrimp. I rather not take the extra time to feed my dats other food.
I'm going to give it another week and see how it goes. I just came back from my camping trip and i dropped in some food today and my wide bar seems hungry. It would go up to the shrimp and stare at it and almost as if it was just waiting for it to swim or wiggle so it can catch the food. Same goes for my NGT, they are more in the exploring stage of the food
