Awesome, thank you. Headed to LFS soon, do you use that seachem nourish stuff? Just wondering if there's any low tech stuff I can do
 
Yes, Seachem Flourish (not excel) with each weekly water change. I do that, root tabs every 3-4 months for my substrate planted plants, and then it's just low tech LED lighting.
 
Cool thanks. Are any of those plants sold at lowes or stores like that? Water lettuce maybe
 
I've never looked anywhere but fish stores for my plants. But I bet you could get water wisteria or water sprite from Petsmart. Their plant section usually leaves a lot to be desired but they might have some. Your LFS should have something for you. Or you could always order online, too.

Great success. Got duck weed (frog bit?), water sprite, water wisteria. Nearly instant change in behavior :)

It's made a world of difference, really happy they're doing better. I can't believe how clean the snails keep this tank, it's in direct sunlight. Also snails are reallyyyy entertaining lol

I agree that larger snails can be entertaining. I wanted these awesome golden rabbit snails but I was really worried they'd get picked on/ picked at so I didn't get them. If they were picked on my 5 and 10 gallon tanks are too small I think for the poop machines that they supposedly are.
 
Hmm I have 4 of them and like 10 little ones, plus the 4 sens in a 30 gallon tank. Wonder if it was too much for the newish bacteria colony, tank has only been up for 5 weeks or so
