I have 9 Clown Loaches currently in my 75g (largest is 6" and they all moving to the 220) and they're all very active, love to beg for food, and not very afraid of people other than the new guys
I have 5 Kuhli Loaches in my 20g, never ever see them except when lights go on and they hide as fast as they can to never come out again until night.
Clown loaches shouldn't be kept singly. It's not good for them psychologically to be the only clown loach in a tank. I'm not saying that no clown loach has ever done well alone. But statistically they most often live longer and are less shy when in groups.
I have five clown loaches that I bought when they were babies and they are active not shy. My sixth clown loach was already large when I bought it. It was raised by it's previous owner with no other loaches. This sixth loach just hides in fear when I enter the room while the other five that were raised together dance happily.
i have the temperature at 80 degrees and i jsut got back from getting some ich cure from the store. the ich is all over my clown loach but has not gotten onto my other fish as far as i can tell. i dont want to add salt bc of the other fish in my tank. i dont know if they can deal with the salt and id like to keep my 9 inch pleco and other fish that are in there.
