Im not sure if kiddie pool are 100% fish safe! You may wanna check around or you could always use a pond liner with it!

yeah people do this, theres other posts of the same thing. I might be doing the samething but only thinhg is I wouldnt get the blowup plastic ones, get the the rubber one with the pbc border holding it up, they come with a pool filter to that you can make fish safe!

I was thinking of getting this one

I see it at walmart for $18

Pool Material: PVC
Specifications:
Dimensions: 8' x 18"
Holds 552 gallons of water

I have a old little pond filter around some where. A pool filter works for a natural pond?

I was also thinking of using the water from my down spouts for the pool/pond. running it through a rain barrel or somthing to decrease the flow. any ideas?
Also how fast does water evaporate outside or in a basement? An inch a week? just wondering how much and how often i will need to add make up water.

I have a diy indoor pond and a blow up baby pool for my fry kois.they are doing great it all depends on the bio filtration. The water level on my indoor 500g pond evaporates a inch every two month depending on the weather.

wow it only evaporates an inch every month, that isn't very much. I am going to have a "natural" pond with just a few fish, shrimps and insects and lots of plants so the bio load will be low. So not to sure on how much filtration i want. What do you see the pitfalls of using rain water and moving its a indoor/outdoor pond?
