So I was browsig at Bauhaus and found a large kiddie pool.... A light went on in my otherwise dark mind.
Do people generally have good or bad experiences of using kiddie pools as indoor ponds?
Should one add a pond liner just to be safe?

The pool is quite large. It,s round and 11'5" in diameter and 3' deep, so it's 2.153 US gallons.

Here's a photo of the pond.

It's fine, you don't need a liner.

The 2 biggest problems with it inside is the humidity and a possible leak(high risk it will be the whole thing).

I use a 500 gal intex pool to overwinter my waterlilies, koi, goldfish, and subtropical Uruguayan cichlids, works great, but as you say, the humidity is high, but not higher than a normal 500 gal fishroom.

It's $600. The guy at the store said these ponds should be fine all year long without leaking. What kind pf filtration is cheapest with indoor ponds?

I'm want to do this as well. For catfish. Gonna be awhile til they are big enough and need it. Please keep me updated how this comes out.

I figure a year maybe year and a half to get a good pan size.

Keep us posted. If these jewels keep breeding I'll have a ready live food supply I can trust.

I want to do it outdoors. I'd use channel cats or blue cats which ever I found cheap. Here in SC it wouldn't get cold enough to kill them.
