I would definitely add an additional pond liner or two. Just a thought but, what are you planning for filtration? I'd imagine you could make a large sump out of a water barrel or something along those lines.

until the aro gets about 3 feet, (which they don't always do, average size is about 2 feet) it should work. as long as the pbass weren't tems they would work as well. a little on the shallow side, but plenty wide enough

EDIT: the one problem with the aros might be jumping..

he can put a net over it Ive seen some ponds with it over the top that could work right?
