Hell in Florida there are oscars in a large majority of the waterways and they have bred and will eventually become extremely invasive as like in aquariums they will eat anything that can fit in their mouth so they will most likely decline fish populations and probably spread. But snakeheads are way overexxagerated. Carp are extremely invasive and can do a lot of damage. So why don't they control carp as much. People have some crazy reasons for doing things and I.don't understand that. The aquarium hobby is not the same anymore. Watch after oscars become invasive because they are everywhere people will be not allowed to have any oscars then onto another breed of fish, then to another. Until eventually we will all be stuck with god Damn guppies! Sorry if this doesn't make any sense to you but I believe that almost all types of aquarium fish have at least a few non native populations in the us and eventually those populations will increase. Soon our hobby will be left with some basic fish like guppies which no one wants. So what is killing a few hundred snakeheads gonna do? Even if the us wipes out snakeheads (not possible) there will still be other non native invasive species no matter what we do. I hate these irresponsible people who think that dumping one little fish will do no problems, but add all these people doing this up and you have thousands of non native species in native waters. If you buy a fish you need to commit to it and to keep it throughout its whole life. If you can't do this youre not responsible enough to own any live animal. This might not all make sense but it does to me and I hope it does to you too.
