Ah, man, that sucks... I have often thought I wanted to try a CA tank, but then I see this - I guess I'll just stick to my somewhat boring but peaceful SA fish.

Sorry for the loss. It looks like it was a magnificent specimen. Small consolation but every CA keeper has had this happen (many times) . Sometimes I think that it's my fault in that there was something I could have done better to prevent occurrences such as this. That may be somewhat true but with CAs there are no guarantees.I'll never forget snorkeling in Laguna Bacalar in Southern Mexico and seeing a female Firemouth being killed by it's mate right before my eyes. She had all the room in the world to flee but it didn't help her cause. Being philisophical about it, it's natures way. We just move on.

Well that's sad Miguel. I just read this and my heart dipped low for you. I know that sometimes these things happen. What a magnificent specimen he was. I can only hope mine will rival what yours had become. Its always sad when we lose one of our prized friends that we spend so much time caring for. But hold your head high. It will pass. You have a great passion for all these monsters.
