What would you say is the most humane way to kill fish? I'm switching my 280 over to salt water and i have to get rid of about 25 Natterii. Unfortunatly being in Florida i cannot sell or give them away. Nore am i willing to dump them in a pond or river. so what to do? i have had them since they were the size of nickels and now they are all about 5-6". I was thinking of just turning off the filter and letting them drown. any better ideas?

Freeze them.

like turn the heater off? I cant see putting all of them in my actuall freezer, i dont have enough room.

Sell them on here. :)
And he litterally means the freezer.:(

Yeah I really mean the freezer. Just do a few at a time.

pygo natt, they are red belly piranha. im not selling them, i have a permit to own them, not sell them. they are illegal to sell. i have to kill them. i feel so bad about it. i like them. unfortunatly my groupers and puffer are out growning thier 60 fairly quick. i have to switch it. You think freezing would be a better way to go then drowning?

Clove oil. Or feed them to the grouper. You could put some in the 60,

Have you tried looking for a large used tank yet? I know in my hometown I have seen 125g tank stand tops and lights for $300-400.

Yeah freezer is better, they just go to sleep in the bag. Only takes like 5min if you don't have to much water.
