KILLING SPREE

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My 1' apurensis has done well in the 4500 gal aggressive community with mostly 2'-2.5' RTC, TSN, paroon sharks, jau catfish, silver arowana, etc.

It got pushed around when it got food (a whole large fish) in its mouth but outside of that no one tried to prey on it. My biggest RTC is close to 3'. Could have gulped it down easy and in an instant.

It had spent about 1/2 a year in that tank. Recently moved it back to a 240 gal. Logistics reasons.

Can see the glimpses of it here: it's in the left bottom corner by the drain screen

Much earlier videos (RTC, paroon and pacu are just rescued and are still relatively small) --

1:30 min by the left wall:

0:39, 2:00, 2:20 min:

************** So either I seriously lucked out or apurensis are pretty tough. Now I must note that the apurensis wasn't its natural personable and relaxed self. It was clear to me it was intimidated by all the behemoths swimming around and pushing it around with their snouts every now and then.

************** I had 3 apurensis in my 4000 gal pond in my prior life in Rochester, NY in a similar situation. These were bigger though, ~1.5' and very, very much confident in themselves:

That tank is amazing, Viktor......how do i get my hands on something that size??

I got mine two from Dolphin Fiberglass, Homestead, FL. Call Jack Broyl for a quote. Real nice gentleman.

another victim. Pulled all the fish out this tank except the marble female, apure cat and a pleco. Going to add some bigger fish.

You sure like using expensive feeders lol.
Lol yea I don't really use expensive feeders I just love oddball community tanks. Some work some don't, some of the ones that work have been my favorite tanks like my current eel/knife tank. For the ones that don't its part of the game. I have never paid more than $150 for a single fish in decades of fish keeping so the loses don't hurt to bad LMAO.
