kimbo's next fight

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have also watched all of Kimbo's fights and what are they all about? Punches and nothing more. The guy can definitely punch and strong as an ox but once the game is no longer about punches and no longer in an upright position, he will definitely succumb to a loss.

I mean who are we to judge that he is getting better at his ground game? We've never seen him in a match wherein he utilized ground game offense or defense. the way I see it, he is still a punching monster and that's about it until I am proven wrong.

In my book, a fighter is a guy that goes blow for blow, not some puss that wraps you up and puts his face in your balls and gets you to tap out. I hate ground play, it's ghey. Kimbo's a beast. And I have seen where he's working on his game. He IS getting better (like I said, if you consider that good). Calling someone lame because they can knock your head off, but can't tickle with you on the ground is retarded.

I feel the same way but I like the jujitsu aspects of ground game but not the whole sweat ball sac in my face way.

Seriously fight like a man or get knocked out...plain and simple.

lol thats silly to say. snapping someones forearm in half is not done by someone who is a puss.

i think the crappy thing with Kimbo is who promotes him. elite. they rather cater to the show boat effect rather than really build this guy up as a top fighter. he has the potential and the proper trainers i just hope elite doesnt ruin him.

james thompson will come out and run right at kimbo with fists flyin just like he has done his whole career. as long as he doesnt get lucky and land a KO shot kimbo will win this as well.

:D You get what I mean though.

I hate ground game too because we as men have an innate inclination to more action and dropping of bombs. I understand the technical aspect of ground game and how much work has to be done to execute it. I give credit to MMA fighters who have the presence of mind to execute chokes and other submission moves while another man is trying to beat the crap out of them.

Definitely agree with the ball sack in the face post mentioned above. Stand up game and ground game goes hand in hand in MMA. Let's just think of GSP and Fedpr Emelianenko. Credit also has to be given to Jackson who has an excellent stand up game and much much better defense against ground games, that and his wrestling background.

It all boils down to ability and if Kimbo has the ability, they should show it. EVP nailed it by stating that its the promoters fault. Hell, if I was his promoter I'd do the same thing because it delivers the golden eggs. On the same note, Cotoure (spelling) should be given the highest respects because he is no longer after the money and is after the challenge.

yeah its not as exciting. if u were to try it urself id bet you would appreciate that aspect of the fight more.

Exactly. Not to toot my own horn but I did varsity Judo in the Philippines for a number of years and boy was it hard to do ground game... It takes more out of you and it takes much more presence of mind. To execute a ground maneuver, it almost has to be second nature to you and that takes time and commitment and more time.

look a little more into coutures situation. he F*%ked up. i am a huge randy fan and always will be. the ufc pisses me off all the time. however imo this time the ufc was in the right and randy was wrong. randy signed a contract, he agreed to what he was getting paid. when he saw fedor was being offered a mil just for a signing bonus he became upset. then when they still couldnt get fedor to sign randy leaves and says its the only fight that makes sense for him. thats bull. i understand that he would be upset that fedor was offered so much and he wasnt. he is/was one of the biggest ufc faces. but he should have honored his contract and asked for more money when it came time to redue his contract. i see no honor in bailing on your contract half way thru it. he was happy with it when he signed the papers, his feelings about it after he sees others get more is not an excuse to breech.
