Kind of a monster

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I feed mine sinking shrimp pellets and algae waefers. They are also called dragon gobies but Petsmart has them labeled as dragon fish.

Howdy,

do they want brackish water?! I think I read something along these lines somewhere.?!

Thanks,

They thrive perfect in FW environment.

No they don't. These are a Brackish fish. I have seen very rare occasions where someone had them live in a FW setup, but majority including my experience results in the fish getting tumors and dieing.

Maybe I did not finish my sentence..sorry for the last post..I mean they thrive ok in FW during their juvenie stage...cuz we import these as well and they are all in FW quarantine..

Remember that most of these things end up with dietary deficiencies in tanks, despite the big mouth they like small detritus eaters as food and are gravel sifters, blackworms, tubifex worms, a little soggy flake food, and brine shrimp, as well as a coarse sand patch to feed them on and maybe even add some filter sludge to will help. My last one liked scooping up mouthfuls of gravel and tubifex worms over the ugf.

Really??? I have had mine in FW its whole life but thats about 8months with me and he/she is 9 1/2 - 10in. I bought him at petsmart when he was around 7 1/2 - 8in. He loves algea waffers, sifting sand, and eating algee off rocks.

Yep, like I said before I have seen some rare occasions where they lived ok in FW but most will not survive.

I picked my first one up from Petsmart as well and it died after 5 months of being in FW. It would constantly swim around the surface and bob it's head in and out of the water.

I love this fish which is why I made a BW tank for them, once I bought a new one and started keeping it in BW it was a world of difference between it's behavior in FW and BW.
