kinda weird

If they are stocked, thats really wierd. But if they are released into natural bodies of water, that could be really bad.

Thats how fish end up illegal to own in some areas. From people dumping them into local waters. Then that fish will reproduce like crazy and start decimating local species.

Hopefully that doesnt happen. But Hawaii is small and it wouldnt take long.

Yeah ThemightyOscar, my friend reports to catching an O there too, though Im not sure how they live in there... As of now its frozen over.

i've only caught them there once, which was last year, i went this past summer and only caught LMB and bluegils

im pretty sure they are dumped there

a few years ago there was an enormous pacu, and even a gator

Yeah, I heard about the gator there. I guess the O's must be released, Idont think they are stocked there... It would be silly to stock a fish that couldnt survive. That means alot of people must dump big O's... We should put up signs near the ponds saying "Dont dump your oscar! Call 212-xxx-xxxx to give it a good home!" :)

yeah they definitely aren't stocked there

i believe the stock list includes carp, chain Pickerel, golden Shiner, LM bass, pumpkinseed sunfish, and bluegill sunfish, there are a few catfish that can be caught, dont know the species though

I was talking to a guy in Hawaii not too long ago who was telling me he catches all kinds of illegally introduced cichlds out of the rivers and lake there. I even saw some pics, the fish looked awesome.
