Higly unlikely that they are the only cause:confused: I cant imagen a situacion in wich earthworms could have gattered the amount of pestices or any other contaminant enough to kill a snapper, doesant makes sence, of corse we must use comon sence and dont colect any eathworms or any other feeder from areas that have been exposed to quemicals like farm fields. I colect my own earthworms at home, when it rains I get handfulls, I know for shure they are safe and my turts love them. Worms are a staple food both in the wild and in captivity for most aquatic turtles. Also your not going to feed a large worm to a very small turtle. Turt and worm must be matched like any other feeder;)

they were store bought for fishing but i fed them one once and they made them float then i left town for a month or so and my mom went to feed them and said she gave them some more then he next day called me back and said they was dead

Really odd:confused: Never herd of anything like it, by the simptons looks like they were unable to digest them. What kind of worms were they? If they were used for fishing they could be marine bristle worms wich have toxic bristles. In wich condicions of temps and general care were you keeping them?

the worms was in the fridge and the turles was in a ten gallon where the sun could hit them with about 3-4 inches of water at room temp.

Something was defenetly wrong with the worms you used. I searched about thouse and one of the first links was from a life food selling company and thouse aparently are comonly used to feed reptiles:confused:

oh it was two years ago and now i got a western paint and caught a red-eared slider today just to find out i cant have it
