A sun cat. Horabagris brachysoma.

Very slow growing, and usually reclusive. I've had one for 5 years and he's about 9 inches long.

Nice Sun catfish...a very slow grower

Nice sun cat... I may have got lucky but mine has grown 2.5-3 inches over the 5 or so months I've had him..good water and a nice varried diet and he should be a good looking fish

Agree on the ID. When I had 1,2,3 - they hid. When I had 8, some hid, some were almost always visible. Also, the bigger they are, the less they hide.

Thnx guys....Now i know what i have....but the only problem is that i dont know what to feed him...i have tried three different types of sinking pellets, dry blood worms and some shrimps ....but he doesnt even touch it....hes been like that for two days now...

Drop the food when you shut your lights off...he will eat when its dark as he is nocturnal like most cats. They are really shy unless they have some friends. Mine likes to school with my 2 smalled synos. I didn't think mine was eating till I rescaped my tank and he nice and chunky. Good luck don't freak if you don't see him eat. :)

^I agree with the above. Mine eats best with no lights, though he does come out a bit to get food during regular feeding time.

When we first got ours they wouldn't come out to eat at all with lights. They'd just spin in circles in their pvc pipe waiting for food to float in.
