I know there's a few keepers of Red Claw/Red Thai Crabs on Aquariacentral.com (at least, I think they're still there... it's been a while since I've seen them), if you wanted some personal experience on them. I mean, it's not going to be exact care for your crab since it's not the same species but if it's working for others, at least it's something until you can find the exact species that you have.

Random thought, would the store that sold you the crabs provide you with the wholesaler's contact information (the company they got the crabs from)? You might be able to have them tell you what species they are selling, and thus find 100% accurate care info.

I have a red claw and 2 fiddlers in my 55 gallon display tank with no problem, they just chill out under the driftwood and climb up to the floating pads every so often for air.

They eat what the crayfish don't XD

My crabs eat algae pellets... try that.

I have mine in a tank with some other fish and the other fish are such pigs, that they don't leave the crabs anything. Any suggestions?

Try feeding on opposite ends of the tank. I have to do that with my juvenile crayfish or my platys and mollies will eat everything before it sinks down to the crays. So I feed the fish floating or sinking stuff on one side and feed the crays just sinking stuff on the other side.

this is my crab, well i have 2,

any closer to a posative ID?

This thread makes me want crabs. I used to have one 13/14 years ago. I dont know what kind, it was all orange, some of the body was light orange aond some dark. It was about 3/4 inches across. I used to feed it goldfish and crickets. The crab was slow so it would take awhile for it to catch a goldfish, the crab would slowly inch itself until it was able to pin the goldfish in the corner.

I started jsut handing the fish to the crab, the crab would stick its claw out and I would put the fish in between its pinchers and the crab would take it. It ended up dying though, I think the water was too cold one night.
