My only experience with ducklips was bad, wasted money on med and the fish still had to be hit in the head with a hammer. That does not look like ducklips (yet).

yours LOOKS (not saying 100% positive, and i'm NOT some fish doctor by trade) like starting symptoms of duck lips. if caught early enough it can be treated. when it starts yes it appears swollen, but then will change very rapidly to a more duck bill-ish look. the fish then cannot eat, move, open, do nothing with the mouth. at this point its hard to say if it will survive.

Alright, I'm not taking any chances now... I'm going to buy metro today..

Anything i need to know when applying metro: take out carbon? lower/higher temp?, etc?

yes take out your carbon always when treating a tank. also a bump to 80+ also can help.
