king of cichlids

now hopefully.....this doesent start a buch of flame wars but if there is a king of large cichlids,african or american,what do u think it would be.I would have to say either emperor cichlid or dovii.emperors are pretty tough.I saw one on national geographic attacking a turtle.It was simply defending its fry.doviis are pretty tough also.

It has to be either the Dovii or the Umbee Cichlid they posses tools that no other Cichlid posses. Both full grown make everything else seem placid.

Discus I guess, they are generally refered to as the "king of aquarium fish". I personally like Dovi the best though.

I've seen them and only thing that impresses me about them is there size. My freind raised them and told me they are not overly aggressive but said they hate each other.

o just checkin.........i think the red devil is underestimated.they are highly agressive if u dont have over a 90.and even with that the tankmate would have to be agressive to defend itself

Pbass is a cichlid so I would think so..

As far as kind of cichlids, it all depends on what makes a fish king.

Depends on the fish. Used to keep mine with smaller peacock bass who aren't aggressive(actually skittish) with no problems at all.
