i love how they look so mean. especially when they're flaring at you.

told you so... midas are not team players. you need to put semi-aggressive large cichlids together for the tank to work well.
i would recommend that you do the following:
- scoop that midas out and dump him at the nearest LFS
- put in one of you parrots (probably the male) inside and rearrange ALL the tank furnishings

i think the parrot will play nicer with the zonatum and it won't be total ownage by either fish. plus with the midas out of the way, you won't have to worry that your smaller fish like the beani will get pawned at any one time
