I have a 13 year old cali king. I keep it at my parents house so I see it once or twice a week to feed and clean the cage. Its in a 75g and temps have been in the low 90's. It eats a small rat weekly, last time it ate was a week ago but all I had at the time was a lg mouse. Today it is moving slowly, but about to shed. There is a lump the size of a small/med rat around mid way, but the last meal was the mouse a week ago and she already defecated since then. The mass feels firm, and has developed in a weeks time or less. There is no way she has eaten anything as its a secure tank and no one here to feed it. Any ideas? I'm posting this from my phone so I can't get a pic up right now but will post one later tonight.

Thanks

maybe some infertile eggs?

that could be the case

I had thought of that, and may have missed it the past few weeks as she was eating. Also looked at some pics of gravid snakes and it does look similar. I will wait for her to shed and go from there. Thanks for the input.

Assuming she has unfertilized eggs. Should I continue to offer food? If so should the prey be smaller?

so long as she eats, yes. Starving her will do no good. Also, pay close attention after the next feeding and see if she defecates.

It's too high to have anything to do with the reproductive tract.........Other than that, it could be anything really........
