You should change to a darker substrate I bet it will make a 100% improvement in the fish's color. Just mixed some black sand in with the pfs in my sb tex tank tonight and the change was instant.

Figured you knew. My sb tank is a temp grow tank too it was just driving me nuts how light they were.
